Visit to local Mosque

Marhaba made a visit to Al Mustafa mosque in Otahuhu. The purpose of the visit was to allow the kids to explore the mosque and identify the various features of the place.

The kids afterwards went back to the classroom to be quizzed about what they saw, and learn about the etiquette of behaviour when inside a mosque (through role playing skits).

Eid - My Muslim Festival

A huge undertaking was done by Marhaba to make the kids feel happy and enjoyable in our special Eid festival, just like others feel in Christmas.

The kids wrapped up their gifts with last week's gift paper, and finalised their cards which was signed by them in Arabic and dedicated to their parents, grandfathers, new born cousins and friends!

They all helped in making a BIG banner to wish all Muslims - EID MUBARAK - which was decorated by balloons and colorful chains.

The kids also learnt to recite the special prayer of: "Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar; La illaha illaahu, wallahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Wal lillahil-hamd". They are now looking forward to next week's Eid prayer.

Preparation for the big day

In preparation for the Eid Al Adha, Marhaba's kids started preparing their own gift parcels - painting their own gift parcels and making their own Eid cards for their family and friends.

Acting out guest visiting etiquette

Third week of the Learning Centre. Busy with usual Arabic and Quran activities. This week the kids learnt about the Islamic etiquette's when visiting other people's houses.

The day ended with a role playing exercise were the kids pointed out what some Marhaba actors did purposely wrong and then acting the right way out. What a fun day!
